ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

	The first edition of the International Conference Road Safety and Simulation RSS2007 was organized by the Inter-Universities Research Centre on Road Safety (CRISS) at the University of Roma Tre in Rome, Italy.
	The Conference took place on the 7-9th November 2007.
	The Organization received more than 200 scientific papers and, after review, about75% was accepted.
	About 150 papers have been presented in 16 interdisciplinary sessions. More than 360 authors from over 40 different countries all over the world have been contributed.
	About 500 people have visited during these days the Conference and 60 delegates from Italian and international press have been here.
	The papers have been published on the International Journal 'Advances in Transportation Studies (ATS)' http://host.uniroma3.it/riviste/ats/ The Transportation Research Board (TRB - Visualization Committee) and the European Road Federation (ERF) contributed with specific thematic sessions.
	After this success the RSS Permanent Steering Committee was established and the second edition of RSS has been planned for 2009 in Paris, organized by the INRETS.
